😡

I just found out that one of my LOR was never received by AADSAS even though my prof said she sent it in early september.

Have any of you personally sent copies of a recommendation to schools? Im not sure this is possible considering that most schools require that the envelope flap be signed after it's sealed.

Thanks in advance for advice on what to do.

I personally delieverd a LOR on the day of my interview. It was no problem at all, just have your prof put his/her signature on the flap, like how you mentioned.

pookiepie,

How is your relationship with the prof? is she willing to send a copy to every school or not? You can also look into another prof writing you a letter and sending it to AADSAS or directly to the schools.

you need to figure out what really happened to this. did the prof really sent it out? last year one of my profs told me that she sent out the letter in August, but i found out in FEBRUARY that the letter was never sent out b/c she though that she didnt know enough baout me. Basically, she is the reason why i am re-applying this year...

good luck to you.

that happened to me, i just never used that LOR since I had 4 other...

That also happened with me. I didn't find out that I only had 2 letters in until I got confirmations from schools saying that they had received my AADSAS, but were missing 1 LOR. I knew, however, that my professor had definitely sent the LOR in. Something must have gotten lost in the mail or at AADSAS. Either way, I had my professor send it to AADSAS again, and send it to all the schools directly.

Also, you should call up AADSAS again to make sure that this time they receive the letter and process it. They told me that it takes up to 2-3 weeks to process the letter and send it out again. So i waited for that amount of time and then called them. Apparently, they still hadn't done anything about it (??) after a month! So the woman I spoke to on the phone (extremely nice!) told me that she would put a note in my file and make sure that the LOR was sent out that day.

So, i'd say:
1) ask your prof to send his/her LOR to the schools directly
2) send another copy of his LOR to AADSAS (and this time, maybe send it with a "confirmation of delivery" (it only costs 45 cents extra and gives you peace of mind!).
3) call up AADSAS after you get confirmation they received the letter, and ask them how long it'll take for the letter to be processed.

If you send it to the schools directly, you don't necessarily *have* to send it to AADSAS again, but I did (just in case)...

good luck with everything...sorry to hear this happened to you 🙁
