actually i go to school in detroit and it is as bad as people say....
yeah.... it is. You can live in the suburbs or in one of the nicer areas though, just drive a beater to school. And UDM is a pretty good school.
Alternatively, I would consider Nova. It is a pretty solid school, plus you don't have to deal with the rough winters (well usually rough).
I kinda feel like NYU and Midwestern-IL are too expensive, but if I had to pick between the two I would go with New York. The two cities are both expensive, but I felt NYU had the edge when it came to the program itself. Midwestern-IL (my safety school atm) seems a little bare-bones: Enough to get the job done, but no 'wow' factor.
I'd take LECOM off the list. I think it's basically a last resort school at this point in the game. Plus, I hate the idea of sitting through the med school's PBL and setting up your own (well the med students' own) didactic competencies.
No clue about Midwestern-AZ, but I have heard good things. Great clinically and a sweet campus, right?
So to sum up: I'd say pick Nova, UDM, (or MW-AZ?) unless you have a scholarship in which case NYU might be an option. Just my two-cents.
Now, back to work.....
