Lots of schools waive PCAT for fall 2020 applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
PCAT is crap anyway, anyone can prep for it.

Test centers are locked down. No PCAT required. It’s posted on their websites in an almost celebrational tone.
Interesting. I wonder if theyll require take home test. GRE is moving to making people take it at home with a special proctor to monitor. Not sure how this is gonna work and prevent people from cheating lol

Might as well waive PharmCAS.

Yeah I got an email saying university of maryland waived it or take it in july if possible. I think this year classes will shrink dramatically.

Probably don’t need a pulse to get into a COP....new pharmacists are the “white walkers of Wa(&;@@&$” all dead eyed, all following a cruel master, all trying to sell red rubber noses and flu shots

As long as the undead qualify for federal student loans...

What’s next? Will prerequisites next rolled back or be done away with entirely? Will schools start accepting enrollees on the first day of instruction?

This might cause a spike in pharmacy school enrollment

Why don’t they just remove all the requirements already?

“We would welcome 110 students to join our pharmacy class on this date. Admission would be on first come first served basis. All you need to do is show up on that day with the check of $25,000 that doesn’t bounce, stand in line and we would welcome first 110 people. Registration will be afterwards.

In a meantime, we are working diligently with the state board to expend the enrollment number.”

Why put a limit? Why not just admit as much as possible? haha

I doubt it. Schools are having a hard time filling seats already and people aren't willing to go to school in such short notice. Also, i'm sure pearson might object to taking the PCAT off as a requirement. To much easy money.

What?! Even Pearson has more say than pharmacists?

Seriously, how much of authority do you think pharmacists have? lol we let some random people, the insurance companies, who know nothing about our profession take over, our professors have no idea why there are new schools continuing to be built, they don't even know what DIR fees are lol... All they know and care about is provider status that's been talked about since the 80's whereas nurses and PAs have completed taken over and filled in any gaps. sigh... I won't be surprised if Pearson has alot more say in PCAT than any pharmacy entity lol

How big a factor was/is PCAT anyway? Back in my day it was not required by my school, maybe 1/3 of all schools required it...

when did you graduate lol your "back in the day" could mean anyhting

At-home tests usually require a webcam so the tester can be monitored.
