Louisville....?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm waiting too.
I was told last week that it would take a few more weeks.

I am in state, and waiting. I cannot get them to commit to a time.

waitlisted .. i called the other day they said theyve stopped interviewing

On the blackboard site, the class roster is at 120 (names and emails). So, as of now, ever seat is taken. People will withdrawal soon though.

Does this mean that the class of 2014 is full by the first round?

I think so. When I called a week or so ago, the admissions office told me they have not sent out any offers of acceptances since December 1.

I also got a rejection email a few weeks ago as an OOSer.

those of you who have gotten rejections from louisville, did you interview there?

May I ask why you believe people will withdraw soon? If it's full and people were accepted on Dec 1, everyone has already committed with their deposits by now, so wouldn't that mean people are unlikely to withdraw? Or are you just trying to keep us optomistic lol

Louisville is kinda expensive and some people will probably get into their state school. Futuredent, did you take Into account that some of the faculty are also listed on that list in blackboard? Or is the 120 with faculty removed? I remember noticing Wood Currens and Dianne Foster both on the list when I looked a few weeks ago... I would look again but I'm posting from my phone!

Plenty of acceptances go out after February, including state schools, and like Atticus said, cheaper opportunities. I am not saying 20 spots will open up, but it likely some will. And to Atticus, I did kind of take into account faculty. The actual blackboard roster said 121. So I figured that extra one was an administrator. But you are right, there may be more.
And back to tooth72 again, I wouldn't say my reasoning is optimistic, but more realistic. I would be very suprised if all 120 seats were filled and stayed filled with Dec. 1 acceptances. Especially considering 80 spots are for OOS. But I guess we'll see

Well good luck to all those on the waitlist. Hopefully you will get some good news.

can i ask what the blackboard address is, i dont go to louisville so im wondering if i could see that list..... jw waitlisted as well

Well lets hope some spots open up soon 🙂 If I don't get into Louisville I have to retake the DAT before next cycle, so I am trying to wait as long as possible to register for the test/start studying in case I do get in. I don't know what to do :-/

Hey fellas.

I received my acceptance on Dec. 1, and have been checking blackboard periodically just to see how the class is filling up. As futuredent pointed out, the class roster is close to 120. Although it seems as if the class is nearly full, you can notice that several names listed on the roster are faculty. I noticed Dr. Babbage and Robin Bennigfield were both listed. Therefore, I am not sure how many students actually make up the roster.

I had some time to waste at work so I analyzed the predents data for Louisville based on the profiles.
  • Total accepted = 42
    • Enrolling somewhere else = 17
    • Enrolling = 14
    • ? = 11
  • Total waitlisted = 18
    • Enrolling somewhere else = 7
    • Waitlist (still waiting) = 6
    • Accepted somewhere else = 5
Out of the 42 total accepted, we can see that 14 are enrolling at Louisville (I assumed people solely accepted to Louisville, but had indicated "No Decision", would enroll there), 17 are enrolling somewhere else, and 11 were accepted multiple places, but indicated "No Decision". So, at the high end of the range we could infer that 25 people are accepted/enrolling to Louisville.

Out of the 18 waitlisted, we can see that 7 are enrolling somewhere else, 6 are still waiting, and 5 were accepted other places. So, at the high end of the range we could infer that 12 out of the 18 on the wait list are already enrolled somewhere else.

I know the predents data could be faulted, but at least it gives you something to think about.

Its almost the end of February, does Louisville send second round of acceptance?

Any new updates?

I don't think so. If you read the previous posts someone said the class roster on blackboard has 120 names so I would guess the class is full.

I checked it yesterday and the roster was at 117 including several faculty/ administrators that I recognized. So seats are open or at least my reasoning leads me to think so

I would guess there may be five to ten seats still available from what I see on blackboard. Good luck.

if you dont mind me asking what is the deposit for holding of the seat, because if its not that much you might even have some students drop off the attending list after getting into their state school (possibly) , im trying to stay optimistic bc i am waiting

1000 for out of state and 500 in state

To those who have been accepted and are able to access the Blackboard site, are you able to tell from the roster who is in state and who is out of state? Just wondering.

No. There is no indication if someone is in-state or out-of-state.

Anyone else on the waitlist?

I'm still on the waitlist. Have you called them lately? I did last week and the receptionist basically said the class is probably full or near full, but there would inevitably be some movement (small at that) and that I could possibly find out if I got in (or not) up until class starts the first week of July.
