I just took my DAT and got disappointing scores
BIO/ GC/ OCHEM/ PAT/ QR/ RC
17/22/22/19/17/17
TS: 20
AA: 19

I will definitely need to retake. Any suggestions on how I can work on getting better BIO, QR and RC scores. I just am a slow reader so I couldn't finish my RC on time, QR I ran out of time as well and BIO the questions were very random.

Should probably post this in DAT Discussions.
Bio- just practice and review, go through the destroyer at least twice.
RC- read a scientific article (or 2) everyday to improve your speed
QR- math destroyer + youtube videos so you know exactly what to do and can do it fast vs. struggling over a question.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck!

I recommend using GRE reading material. It is super helpful. And did you do the DATbootcamp RC?

Bio you really have to know your material. The questions will always be detailed-oriented so you will have to memorize a lot of details, not just main concepts. QR just do more practice using Math Destroyer, the more familiar you become with how to solve problems, the faster you would be able to do them. For RC, try to do different strategies. When I took it I didn't actually read through the entire passages, I just tried to look for the answers to the questions by skimming through. You have to find what works best for you.

20TS and 19AA isn't awful. What is your GPA, state of residence, and what type of programs are you interested in? A good friend of mine got 6 interviews and 4 acceptance with a 19AA DAT. It's not impossible if the rest of yorlur application is good.

Don't fall into the SDN trap of believing you need a 21+ to stand a chance of getting into dental school.

Just something to think about...

As for studying, I always studied RC and QR together, and took lots of Rc and QR practice test subsections(from Cracker the DAT) back to back. At least once a day.

Dude nice GPA. I would apply this cycle and apply broadly. Put emphasis on schools that focus on GPA a little more

DAT Destroyer is all you need. Just dedicate a ton of time to crushing that book and your scores will definitely go up. Make sure you know why answers are wrong rather than just which are right. Go over each question's answers and understand why each is wrong; as soon as you're relatively comfortable doing that, you're ready to rock
