Careful with doing a non-cat with a less than ideal score. You can fall into a difficult cycle of doing multiple non-cats. I'd just focus on getting that score higher, even if it means a gap year. That extra year means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I think in today's application atmosphere, the 4 year programs have gotten very competitive (high CBSEs, or medium CBSE + noncat). The 6 year programs have fallen out of favor but are still very self selective (you need a good CBSE, bc they can't risk a failed step). What that means is, the people who think "I'll grind with multiple noncats and a low CBSE", that's a tough road bc the 4 year programs don't go for that anymore, and neither do the 6 years. So just be careful before starting a noncat
