- 3 Withdrawals due to not knowing implications, 2 of them I retook and got a B, 1 got an A
- Did Not explain reasoning on TMDSAS why my grades went from a 4.0 freshman year to a bunch of Bs, Cs and Ws the following semesters due to being afraid of being blacklisted
- Just finished this past semester with a course load full of high leveled BCPM science classes with a 4.0(My gpa looks like a U)

- VCU, UoP, NYU, Louisville, Midwestern-IL, Roseman


- I am treating my senior year(about to enter) like a DIY-postbacc year, taking as many hard sciences as possible.
- Nervous because I dont know if I want to get a masters/postbacc rather than working.
- I would rather work but then I couldnt raise my gpa.
- But, I have a BA chem so I dont know if I could get a decent job
- Any guidance would help, I haven't been getting real advice as my advisor says I have a coin flips chance of getting in...

I think you definitely stand a good chance this cycle. 25AA will get you in somewhere. Continue that upward trend of 4.0 to bring up your science GPA and be sure to show that in the academic update. Also be ready to speak to your poor grades/W’s some semesters in interviews.

After you submit your app EARLY this cycle, the Aadsas App opens up again, called the “academic update,” in order to add any classes you have taken, new grades, experiences, etc (See the dates for the academic update below). You could apply to postbaccs before their deadline, but make sure you’re able to decline the acceptance to the postbacc if needed. i.e. don’t commit to a master’s program or something.

There are two academic update periods:
Aug. 14 – Sept. 30, 2020: Academic Update period (1st academic period)
----> For summer classes
Dec. 4, 2020 – Feb. 3, 2021: Academic Update period (2nd academic period)
----> For fall classes
You need to send out a new transcript with the new grades during this time, and your application will be reverified and new GPAs calculated!
**You can add new experiences at any time, but you can only add new grades/class schedules during these two periods.

Sure, U-shaped trends can be tricky but manageable depending on your last upper-level biomed science coursework in my opinion. If you are a Texas resident, chances are much better within Texas as most programs outside of Texas are wary of recruiting anyone who doesn't have stellar stats (which you don't have).
