I'm currently in Postbacc taking classes to boost my GPA. My DAT score is TS 27, AA 24. However, my GPA right now is around 2.8. By the time i finish this quarter, i will be at 2.9. I also have a 4.0 in Post Bacc (all upper div science classes). I am just wondering, is it better to apply early? or is it better to wait until i finish summer quarter (which is in August) so my gpa would be higher? i know i have a low chance but i still want to try it out.
thanks!

Apply broadly and wisely and you should get in. Be sure you meet cut offs and apply early.

thanks for all the advice. I'm just curious, aren't the "cutoffs" GPA for dental schools 3.0? I heard some don't even look at your app if you don't have at least a 3.0. Also, what schools do you think i should apply?(most likely schools that favor DAT more than GPA).
I'm thinking about NYU, UOP, Tuft, USC, Western, NOVA... all the GPA averages are a lot higher than mine so i'm scared that if i apply early i won't even get an interview due to my GPA....

Depends on the school. Some schools have cutoffs at 2.7 (Buffalo is one of them). Roseman requires 3.0 GPA in the last 30 semester hours of science courses. You should look up each school to come up with a list. I don't know how many credits you took in the post bacc but your DAT is extremely high so you should definitely have a shot at some schools.
