I have an overall gpa of 3.2 with science gpa of...abysmal 3.1 barely. Since only my first semester this final year will go into application, if I do well, I would be able to lift my science gpa to almost 3.2. I know this isn't competitive enough and my test taking skills are just bad, even though I know i'm capable. So if I get a 20 AA on my dat, do I have a chance at a school like NYU or Tufts? I also shadowed my a prosthdontist for a long time. Thanks.

Yes you have a chance, especially if your lower grades were in your freshman year.

Tufts said:
Dental Shadowing Requirement:

"We require 75 hours of exposure to the dental profession through shadowing experiences. At least 40 hours of shadowing must be completed with a general dentist."

If you have not already, then you need to go shadow a general dentist aka. GP.

Does biology professor mean a professor that actually taught biology or a professor that taught a course that is classified as a biology course according to AADSAS? Because all of my professors that wrote my LOR teach a course classified as so (immunology, neuro, genetics) but not biology 101/102 itself. Also, I have one from a general dentist as well.

Thanks 🙂 . I guess that answers my question? You could elaborate a little instead of just directing people to links.
