Took a DAT Bootcamp test for the first time today, this is my breakdown:
Bio: 24
GC: 24
Org: 21
PAT: 16 (!!)
Reading: 22
Math: 19
I've been studying PAT for the last 6 months straight with various resources (Kaplan, Princeton Review, Crack the DAT, and Bootcamp) but I can't seem to do very well on this section. How worried should I be? My actual DAT exam is coming up in about 3 weeks.
I noticed that in Kaplan, PR, and Crack the DAT, I can just match up the lines on the TFE section and get the correct answer like 90% of the time. I don't need to actually sit there and try to visualize anything, unlike in Bootcamp. I also notice that in Kaplan/PR/CDP I can almost always eliminate a few answer choices in TFE based on dimensions alone-i.e. the height of the front view will be obviously wrong in at least 1 or 2 answer choices (again, unlike Bootcamp). So, what is the real DAT like? Can I use line counting on at least some of the choices? Will I be able to eliminate at least some of the choices just by looking at dimensions? Don't even get me started on pattern folding, that's a lost cause in my opinion.
