anyone get in with a low PAT???
I got my DAT scores and I have a 15 on the PAT. I am in shock right now cuz my AA is 19 and science is 20. I dont know what to do so I called schools to see what I can do, eventhough they say that my GPA is good, everything else looks good but I have to just wait and see what happens I guess. Praying for a miracle.

Well, there are schools with cutoffs, so I would contact your schools of interest to see what that is. If you feel like you can pull of a 18+, take it again. Otherwise, sit back, relax and hope for the best. I don't think that PAT will make or break you, but it does not help...

I got a 17 on mine and got accepted to 5 schools. So an average PAT shouldn't make or break you.

my friend applied last year with a 15 PAT and only got into UMDNJ. she didn't get any other interviews either i think because 15 is lower than the cut off of most schools. she got a 19AA, with a 22 on the reading and also had a 3.6 at an ivy league school. you have a ton of time before application cycle..if it was me i would take it again!

Don't worry to much about a low PAT if the rest of your scores are good. UTHSCSA did a study a few years back that showed there is no correlation between a students performance on the PAT and how well they perform in dental school. Just do you homework on where you are to apply as some schools do have an across the board cutoff, as posted above, usually around the 17-18 range. good luck and don't sweat it. Use predents.com to get a gauge on where to apply.

I got a 20/21/15 and 3.7 GPA last year and didn't get a single interview!
This year, I raised my PAT to a 17 and got three interviews and one acceptance. At one of my interviews, the interviewer told me that the PAT score was basically garbage. Good luck with your apps.

I made a 15 on the PAT and was accepted to 4 schools. It can happen. Keep your head up!
