what the heck is up with the recent abundance of really low QR scores? this is really starting to scare me. is it cause the problems are really hard or do some people just get tired by the end of the test?? :scared:

Time is the biggest issue. This section throws a plethora of long word problems at you which require very quick work and is difficult to complete in 45 minutes. You have to fly.

not just time, some problems are from left field so add those few to the long word ones and your bound to make a few other mistakes and you got a low score

Everyone is indeed worrying me. I am really good at this section, but everyone is killing my hopes of doing well...:scared:
Could be coincidence...

Hey man, I just took it on tuesday, and didn't do so well. The algebra/geometry/trig problems were very straightforward and were not the problem. The problem was having 12-15 word problems out of 40Q's and little time. Honestly, some of the word problems were really really long, if you cant get it within 2min.....you're done. I had 1 min left and I was on question 31.

For me, QR section had a lot of very random questions. A lot of word problems and a lot of random questions that might be easier solved if there was more time to think about it. Throughout the whole exam I had 10 minutes in each section to go over everything. The math section was minute by minute for each question, there was no time. Some word problems I had to estimate and guess the correct answer. But, dont be worried, the fundamentals of the questions don't change. Know how to do square root of square root of 800. know how to quickly set up answers for word problems.

IMO, I believe that people spend a lot of time trying to memorize things (i.e. conversions) but in reality speed and efficiency is what's most important. Most of the questions usually don't involve conversions..but rather long division or finding square roots quickly.

Unfortunately, this trend isn't really new. If you look back on threads started about this same time last year, the content is very similar. There was a down turn in QR scores when compared to the previous cycle. It seems this trend has continued.
