LOWDOWN ON BUFFALO- (for canadians)

Does anyone know whats up with UBuffalo with respect to canadian students??? they said they have no quota for out of state or canadian students (although they have preference for in-state studs) nor is their class full... yet to hear anything though...anyone know anything more???

When I was applying last year, Buffalo told me that since it's a state school, they give priority to state residents. I applied and didn't hear a thing from them for the longest time. By the time I did, I gave my deposit for UPitt, which was my first choice.

So my advice is to just call them every week to check on your status.

This is sort of out of topic...but this weekend there was a dental student conference in montreal. Me and some of my friends were quite impressed by the sight of almost 1000 dentists-to-be in one single room (most from quebec and ontario- lots of western and u of t ppl).

anyway, after that we sort of started praying that the boomer dentists will all retire soon or we wont be able to find jobs.

it was an enjoyable evening though- any canadian students on this board attended it?

I did not attend the conference in Montreal, but I did attend the Three Rivers conference by the ADA a few months ago, and it was awesome. I have never in my whole life been given so much free stuff before!

As for the baby boomers retiring and us not having a job...I've never thought about it really, because I already have 3 practices in the core of Toronto that I can potential join when I graduate. So it's never been an issue for me, like it seems to be for you.
