loyola -- "re-review" status?

so i ran a search for this but couldnt find anything....
i called loyola on thursday for the status check, and at this point they have decided not to interview me [ 🙁 ] but will be reviewing my file again, most likely after the first of the according to the lovely woman i spoke with. does anyone have any experience with this? at this point, how bad does it look? do they interview many people who are re-reviewed??

at this point i have *only* 5 interviews, but ive only heard from 7 of the 24 schools i applied to..... im starting to get very nervous and i feel like im in this holding pattern at a lot of schools.... ugh. anyone have any input?

I am still waiting for 14 schools to get back to me. I have basically assumed that because I am not as strong an applicant I keep getting shuffled down. At this point I would almost prefer a no from some of these places so I can move on with my life.

Btw. I only have 2 interviews, so you are doing better than me (if it makes you feel any better!)

well from the loyola people i have talked to, they said that loyola will look at your file 3 times. they can invite you to an interview from any of the 3...its stressful to be put into the re-review pile, but it by no means you are out. (or at least that's what i was told, and i sure hope its true because i am in the same situation as you!) loyola will still accept people to their class as late as january or later, so not to worry yet. i'm still hoping for my interview, too. goodl luck.

im not complaining [or at least... trying not to!!] that i dont have more than 5.... ok. well, maybe i am a wee bit bitter - ive been complete since august and have heard little more than crickets over the silence. ive had to take a break from sdn for a while cause it freaks me out seeing all of these people getting loads of interviews! im proud of everyone [esp the med school discussion thread -rock on guys!] but oy. and id more or less give my left foot to have the loyola, so i was kind of disappointed by my status. but hey - maybe brats and i will be able to pull it in early 2005!

Many of us got in after being re-reviewed. You might want to write an update letter letting them know anything new in your life and how interested you are in Loyola, but otherwise hang in there!

Definitely consider writing a letter updating what you've been doing and explaining why you're particularly interested in Loyola!

As far as my own bitching, I haven't heard back from 7/11 schools (all the schools I really want to get into) that I sent secondaries to. Granted these are highly ranked programs but I've been complete since early August and have good stats/ECs. Let's just hope this forum misrepresents the national pool of applicants/interview times.

Many of us got in after being re-reviewed. You might want to write an update letter letting them know anything new in your life and how interested you are in Loyola, but otherwise hang in there!

I'm an august MCATer and was just sent the Loyola secondary about 2 weeks ago.. still working on it ..but will definately turn it in this week!
I was just wondering if my app will have a chance to be reviewed 3 times or if it will probably only be reviewed once because its so late? Does anyone know how often the adcom meets? thanks 🙂

seems like the adcoms meet like monthly. you'll probably get looked at 3 times, but after the 1st time it'll most likely be for waitlist spots...just my guess based on how its lookin.
