Does anyone know anything about Loyola's program? The only thing I've heard is that they have long work hours, but it didn't seem that bad at the interview.

Loyola is a good program. I don't think average OR hours are much different than the larger programs downtown but call is busy from what I understand. Loyola is a massive trauma center and while interviewing the resident showed us the call room (which had 3 cots in it) and said "don't worry about the space, you won't ever have time to see this room."

You'll see plenty of nasty blunt trauma from farm/industrial mishaps as well as some penetrating thrown in for good measure. Lots of hearts done there. Good camaraderie from what I heard from a pain fellow at NWU and my interview experience. New regional/outpatient surgicenter rotation sounded good. I cannot recall the peds situation but I think it was "we do cases as they come in". Would have been higher on my list if it wasn't in Maywood.
