anyone know anything about the london school of hygiene and tropical health? particularly how it might be possible to go to this school and an american med school (with their different acad. cal.)

Do you mean that you want to attend both simultaneously? Logistically, that sounds difficult, but I'm not really familiar with the school. Are you from America? If you mean that you want to go to school in London and then attend an American medical school, that's totally possible, and in fact, one of my med school classmates did just that.

i am american and am currently applying to medical school in the us. my ideal situation would be to be accepted at a us school, defer admission for a year to attend lshtm and then return to the us for medical school (or take a leave of absence in the middle as is common in md/mph programs).
my main concern is that in london, the school year begins and ends in late sept. did your classmate finish his/her degree at lshtm and then wait a full 10-11 months to start his/her md?
i know there are a large number of other issues that could come up with my ideal scenario (like if i dont get into med school or if they wont let me defer) but any help with this one would be awesome!
