I was thinking that all of us LSU people should introduce ourselves? Just first names and where you're from... We will be classmates, after all. Although, we wouldn't want too much of our info out there. (Or maybe I'm just paranoid.) :laugh:

IS. the counter was last updated yesterday, and at that point 0 out of I think like 28 or so OOSers had not submitted their acceptance forms...yall get on it!

My name is Margaret. I am originally from Jennings, LA; however, I attended college out of state at Clarendon College, Clarendon, Texas, Connors State College, Warner, OK, and finally finished my BS and MS at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR. I cant wait to meet all of you in the Fall!

If there are any Arkansas alternates out there...I just turned down a place at LSU and one of my friends is about to. SO that should mean two more people on the OOS/Arkansas list should be offered admission! Goodluck!!!
 
heyyyyyy guys... so pumped because i just got accepted yesterday as an OOS..I wanted to comment on the thread because like everyone else I wouldn't mind meeting some people before classes begin. And where better than facebook? Okay I have my paws account all set but it says I can't access my lsu email until i go to orientation or something. How are you all going about getting into the LSU '12 facebook network??????? I'm so confused.. It won't let me do it when I go on facebook because it won't let me use my yahoo account, only an edu email.. What are the people that have been accepted doing to get into the LSU facebook network???????????? AND BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE APPLYING!!!
 
I think if you join a city network, like Baton Rouge, you'll be able to use a non .edu email account.

yeah i might just join the baton rouge city network... i read on my PAWS account that you cannot get your official LSU email account until you have attended an orientation session...i'm sooooo bummed because I really want to get on the network.. I mean who doesn't check their facebook once a day? it's addicting sometimes and a good tool to meet classmates. I actually don't really know if I got in off the waiting list. I'm going to be playing lacrosse down there even though it's just club, i'm all the way up in Connecticut. I haven't got the "official" acceptance letter but talked to admissions yesterday and they said I got accepted and my PAWS account reflects this. As soon as "A final decision has been reached" showed up on application status, all this registration stuff showed up on my account, blackboard, tigerware etc. sooooooooo i'm really pumped. Is Herbert the best bet for a freshman living on campus. I mean it's seems awesome and I do drink on the weekends so I don't want to live in the Pentagon and possibly end up with kids that hate social drinking. Anyhow I'll stop blabbing on but I'm sooooooooo pumped. Now I have to figure out about what orientation session to attend. Probably an early one because I want my freaking facebook account set up. I wonder if anyone's even on facebook as "LSU '12"???

Wow, you are excited. Congrats. You do not have to be part of the Baton Rouge network or anything like that to reach facebook group, LSU SVM Class of 2012. It is just a group. You can search for it under groups.
 
I am an OOS student accpeted to LSU, and just decided that I am going to take a trip over there to see the campus. I was wondering if anyone knew if tours need to be scheduled or if I could just call the day of. Reason is the office is closed now for the weekend I would assume, and I am going to be arriving on monday in hopes to see the campus. Thanks if anyone can help. I am excited to see the school and area!
 
I haven't received any info about being able to log into a PAWS account... Is that something we set up ourselves, or is that something that the school will email/contact us about with usernames, etc?

I did get an email earlier this morning about how the admissions office is going to be sending out information packets as soon as possible.

If you have the chance, I would call (the notice might give them time to set something up). I am IS but currently live OOS. If you do not have time, just go by the school. I did this a week or so ago. Someone will be there in the admissions office. Go in the school using the first entrance... there will be a security guard that can show you where you need to go.

Me too! I've already accepted Illinois though...I'm not sure what I will do. They said I had until friday to decide. But yeah, waitlist phonecalls are going out...Goodluck to anyone on the alternate list...

I'm in the same situation. I literally just sent in my acceptance letter & $1000 deposit😱 (yes $1000!😱) today to Purdue as OOS.....so now I gotta decide, & quickkkkk! Any suggestions will be greatlyyyy appreciated🙂
I have not visited LSU ever, since OOS did not have interviews..so I don't have much to go by on this one.
