I've been accepted to both and haven't committed yet to either.

I like both options for different reason.

What would do you guys between Liberty or Ohio University?

Personally I couldn't go to Liberty due to my unwillingness to mix religion and medicine. Let a lone the more extremist evangelical form of religion liberty gives me the vibe of. But that is personally just me, you may feel differently. I've heard the faculty is really nice from a couple SDN posters. I've heard plenty of other plausible arguments against Liberty as well if you haven't already I would definitely do your thorough research on here about them, check @Goro 's post history about Liberty for the negatives. Not sure where to look for the positives, if there are that many.

OUHCOM has that 5 year commitment I believe, so if you don't mind practicing in Ohio for a bit post graduation then I'd go OUHCOM. I personally would choose OUHCOM as Ohio isn't too far from family for me, and as much as I wouldn't want to be stuck in Ohio for that long I think it would be the better of the two choices in my opinion.

Congrats on the acceptances!!! I hope whatever you choose ends up being a perfect fit for you! Best of luck!

Sorry I couldn't offer any info regarding academics, just my 2cents

OU, this isn't even close. Even with living there 5 years post graduation. You're not required to do residency there right? Does anyone know?

From speaking with admissions before when I was interested in attending, you can do residency elsewhere but have to come back for 5 yrs.

LUCOM had a massive attrition rate for the first year class. This is unacceptable in a new school.

Don't remember offhand .. 11 students had to repeat OMSI plus one lost to suicide, I was told.

And that is only the first year... Yikes.

My condolences to the one student that has passed and his/her family.

I have no experience with OUCOM, but I interviewed at LUCOM and absolutely loved it! It really is such a class act. I know I'm in the minority, but I came very close to attending LUCOM because I loved the environment so much. I encourage you to remain open minded on this one!

I'm from the OU area and my father is a professor there, so I am somewhat biased. But Athens is gorgeous and Ohio really isn't that bad (as much as some people want to say it is). Columbus is an awesome city, would not be a bad place to spend 5 years. Plenty of things to do there during down time. Plus it's not LMU.

I asked other students and you only have to sign a 5 year commitment if you are an out of state student. I'm not an out of state student. I'm from Ohio so I'd like to live and work in Ohio close to home anyways so that's not a problem for me at all.

LMU =/= LU.
I feel bad for that school getting associated with LU.

100% Ohio. Even if you had to stay there 10 years.

Eff. Didn't even notice I said that. I even have a friend at LMU :hilarious:
In my defense this was finals week for classes and finals week for basketball and football leagues so I was wiped haha
