Are these considered the same thing, as in #115 of AAMC 10? Is the "interstitial space" that o2/co2/other compounds exchange through a part of the tissue itself? If so, then what about the space outside of tissues?

the endothelium is the capillary endothelium. the pneumocytss lining the alveoli are epithelium. the interstitial space is the space between the capillary wall and the cells that line the alveoli, and consists of extracellular fluid, proteins, connective tissue, etc.... I'm not sure I understand the rest of the question.

#115 for AAMC 10 finds viral antigenso n the capillary endothelium, and uses this information to conclude that lung endothelial cells are infected. Why can we say that they're the same?

do you have the question? The two terms are not the same because there are many locations for "endothelium" throughout the body... but essentially, the only place endothelial cells exist in the lungs are within the blood vessels

This is the question. The answer explanation should hopefully give context

ahhh, I see. Yeah it seems like whatever experiment they did demonstrated antibodies finding antigens on the cell membrane of endothelial cells. The sentence is basically just trying to equate the two terms I think, because the only endothelial cells I the lungs are those in the capillaries. Sort of confusing if you didn't actually know this. Some questions and explanations are just terrible

Oh I see. So you're saying because the lung doesn't have endothelial cells, but rather epithelial cells, the capillary endothelium can be equated to the lung endothelium?
