Hi, so in my letter of interest I was gonna write that i am “continued volunteering at XXX since submitting my apps”. but the thing is, i have been to the orientation and stuff after but the scheduler didn’t put me in for any shifts so i haven’t exactly been volunteering there currently and my class schedule isn’t working w the shift times.

am i overthinking this or am i screwed if the dental school contacts my reference? what should I do?

what should you do? don't lie...

If you can't be truthful with your letter of interest, how do we know your interest is truthful?

Most adcoms consider letters of interest as valueless. Don't write us, we'll email you. If you have to write one, wait until you have 100 hours; we know plenty of people who ghost after the first workshift or two.

is it fine to write as i said, bc im planning on returning but have been inactive for few months
how are you "continuing" while "planning on returning" and "inactive"?

if you are willing to lie about something small like this, i shudder to think about how you will conduct yourself as a dental student or a dentist...
