lymphadenopathy

Lymphadenopathy can be due to various causes. It occurs usually in response to infections.
Any persistently enlarged (more than six weeks) or painful lymph nodes need to be investigated by a doctor.
Transient lymph node swelling i.e. for a few days is not very significant as it occurs in response usually to an acute infection, eg. swollen neck nodes in a sore throat
