Hi everyone, I am currently finishing up my M.Sc. and applying for dental school. I was wondering if anyone knows whether a graduate degree will help counter a lower gpa or low dat score. I recieved a 17 on the PAT and many schools have a higher requirement. Do you think my M.Sc. will provide any leniency when the admission offices see this score? Thanks.

depends on what your GPA is during your masters.

Why not just call the schools you are intrested in and find out what they think?

I think to some degree, an M. Sc degree at some schools will help with your undergrad GPA if you do well. Most schools look at undergrad though unless they know how intense your Masters program was. I don't think anything compensates for a low DAT score. You have to at least do fairly well. Good luck.
