Hi guys,

I'm currently an M1 with a very traditional anatomy course in my first semester. We have completed 2/3 units, and once again I've noticed recently that my written exam scores are good (around 92% and well above the class average) but I lose it on the lab practicals (below average on the 2nd unit, 1st unit I was just at the average mark). I've spent time in lab, even more so in the 2nd unit, and appreciated the variability from body to body, but I'm still lost on this disconnect. Supposedly many folks have it the other way around (high practical scores, low written scores). Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Its hard to be sympathetic to your cause when you're doing so well. Lab was a crapshoot for me, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe others have some good suggestions though.

Acland's Videos + Rohen's Atlas of Anatomy + the UMich site. Quiz, quiz, quiz. As always, practice as close to performance as possible.

Acland's does mini-reviews with the narration turned off; Rohen's lets you cover up the labels; and the UMich site is full of tests. It sounds like a lot of extra work, but they're more conducive to active learning than spending extra time picking through fascia in the lab.

Sincerely appreciate the help guys! I have done almost all the UMich questions, written and practical. It's certainly helped me for the written along with BRS. Perhaps more repetition with their practical Qs maybe, but it'll certainly be helpful to get different cadaveric angles from the resources you guys described.
