Hey everyone!

I've seen a lot of posts asking this question but none with answers... I was hoping to find out if it's necessary to go through M.G.L. c. 13 (22 – 25), M.G.L. c. 112 (24 – 42A), M.G.L. c. 94C (1 - 37) (Massachusetts Controlled Substances Act). I'm finding the MA Controlled Substances Act to be very confusing and it's making me very nervous ><
I'm also considering purchasing the pharmacyexam.com review questions... were these helpful for anyone?

I'm taking the MA MPJE in exactly one week and I've already been through 247 CMR and 105 CMR.
Any help would truly be appreciated!!! I'm going to be posting my experience and what I've used to study for the NAPLEX, NJ MPJE, and MA MPJE once it's all over -- hoping to give back to the community that helped me so much 🙂

Sooooo being that no one was able/willing to help out with this I will post my experience, as promised.

MA MPJE--

Timeframe: I gave myself about 10 days to study for this. Studying was on/off and mostly 9-5 (there's no way to hold that much attention on such dry material). This was enough time to go through all of the materials 2x, some of them 3x.

Materials: I used the pharmacyexam.com practice questions. I found them helpful and a good way to reinforce and check if you've learned and are retaining the material you've read. As far as the actual study materials go: I went through all of the items listed in the MPJE packet MA sends out with the application. This included 247 CMR, 105 CMR, M.G.L. c. 13 (22 – 25), M.G.L. c. 112 (24 – 42A), M.G.L. c. 94C (1 - 37) (Massachusetts Controlled Substances Act). For federal law (which isn't much on the exam) I used Reiss and Hall.

Result: I passed with an 85. I felt extremely lost during the exam, there were questions that seemed out of left field but I'm guessing these were the "practice" questions they put in. You should know what goes on a label and prescription; who can prescribe; prescription transfers; controlled substances; etc. I had plenty of time to finish the exam and actually ended up finishing early.

I do hope that this helps! If I can calm at least one person down from pre-exam stress then it will have been worth it 🙂

Thanks for this info. do you think spending time studying CMR 801 is worth ? thanks again

Sorry for the (seriously) delayed response but I figured that someone else could benefit from a response to your question even if it's too late for you.

I personally did not look at CMR 801 so I would say no on that one 😛
