Last night I attended a meeting at a local hospital for a pilot doctor shadowing program coordinated between my undergrad institution, the local hospital, and the nearby medical school. It's intended to be a long-standing program, and as we're the first batch of pre-meds in the area to be matched with preceptors to shadow, the medical students organizing this wanted to hand out some surveys to see what our knowledge of medicine was like before and after the shadowing experience.
The questions ran the gamut from stuff like "what is a serum creatinine test for" to "how long is a family medicine residency," but the question that made me laugh was:
In your opinion, do doctors work:
A) Too many hours.
B) Just the right number of hours.
C) Too many hours.
