Hello,

I'm doing a research paper on the efficiency of maggots in foot and leg ulcers. I have a hard time getting full text articles on this topic since I do not have a subscriptions to JAPMA, JAMA, journal of wound care, etc. I cannot see it feasible paying $25 for just one article. I was wondering if anybody can help me out with this situation (such as having some articles in pdf format)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you wanna PM me with a few articles you want, I'll try to see if they're in PDF. If you have any pod school interviews left, every pod school's library has (or should have) access to JFAS, FAI, JAPMA etc articles in PDF for the last 5yrs or so. The older articles from those pod-related journals should be on the bookshelves also, so you just photocopy them. Bring a list of articles (name, authors, journal name/issue/pgs), and ask the librarian to help you out.

Maggot therapy, whether it works or not, will never be acceptable enough for most patients IMO. Interesting stuff, but "would you prefer this enzymatic cream to debride your ulcer... or this cup full of sterile maggots" probably has a pretty consistent answer from patients 😉
