Mail in tax return form-1040 before or after acceptance?

Hey guys, a couple of the schools I interviewed at require a signed copy of the 1040 form for financial aid consideration. I have yet to hear the final decision from some of these schools and I was wondering if I should just send the signed copies anyway. My worry is that I will not get all my financial aid estimates before May 15th if I don't send them beforehand. My other worry is that I don't want my information and parent's personal information scattered around the country for no reason.

If they ask for it, send it. They will need the info eventually.
