Hey all!
I spent this summer studying for the 9/2 MCAT, but I've decided to delay mine till next year. At this point I am moderately prepared, but I think I need more solid performances on my VR. Perhaps the more time I devote to prepare, my marks will improve 😉.

Hence my question at hand. Do you think it is wise to register for the MCAT next year, at the end of June? I have classes starting this September and I figure it wouldn't be too loose. I see some fellow pre-meds on SDN scheduling their MCAT for Jan or April. For myself, that might be slightly overwhelming with all the potential school-work madness.

What I'm concerned about is maintaining my MCAT knowledge, skills and general mindset that I've built till next June. Also spreading out the resources (passages, questions, BR phases, FLs etc) so I wouldn't run out by the time I hit summer break. I have all TPR review and TPRH work books + EK verbal right now.

Any suggestions, worries, tips and advices? 🙂

Everybody's different, but I find it reasonable that MCAT prep is best done by about 3 months of intense studying, rather than spreading it out.
Yes the contents you covered earlier will definitely be forgotten by then, but as long as you can make up for that by doing a review for the entire chapters when it's near exam time, then it would be ok IMO. You probably won't need to spend too many hours initially, but remember, when you finish content review, you'll start FLs and that will need at least 5~6 hrs a day of studying. And it's not so easy to spend blocks of time studying for MCAT when you have a major paper due next week or a midterm. So, if you think you can manage your time, then yeah, go for it, I've seen people doing it and succeeding in this forum.
