There is probably some overlap, but I don't think its the same as doing biology. In human physiology, you will spend most of your time dealing with the human body. In biology, you will probably study cells and all that in general for many species, not just humans. I'm not an expert in this, but this is what I think the differences are.

They don't sound the same. I think as long as you enjoy it, and you prepare well for med school it doesn't really matter what your major is. It sounds like a very interesting one.

Thanks for the input guys, I just was making sure becuase I like the major and just didnt want to be like a majority that are applying.

Just pick a major you like and the take the pre-med classes... if you like to major in major in basket weaving with a concentration in assembly underwater then go for it. as long as you take the classes you like you should have no problem.

i think it, along with bio, is pretty much a useless major; biochem is good, but general stuff like physio and bio are useless. First, you will learn it again in med school so there is no point to learn it the first time. Second, it is all memorization and you dont actually learn anything substantive. Third, it's application in a research lab requires background but only if you plan on doing a phd; otherwise any monkey can do lab work. Bottom line, if you are going to med school dont major in anything biorelated unless its biophysics, biochem, bioeng.. I did, and feel so dumb for doing it.
