My school allows students to do some of their mandatory clerkship rotations (for example the 6 week psychiatry rotation) at another school. The catch is that the other school has to agree to take you on. I am just wondering if anyone knows of / could recommend schools that may allow me to do this. I have minimal elective time and thus wish to expose myself to as many medical schools/locations as possible before I decide where I should do my residency.

Thanks,

HR

I was under the distinct impression, following a conversation with a dean, that the LCME requires that all required clerkships be done at the student's home institution. But, if the school will let you do it I don't think it's up to you to call them on it. On the other hand, I would be a wee bit concerned that it could somehow come back to bite you in the ass later (ie. LCME finds out, school says you have to repeat the rotation at home). Anyone else know anything about this?
