Hey guys Im trying to finalize my ERAS app and decided to ask for your opinions on some things running through my head.

1- I havent submitted my ERAS yet because Im missing one of my more important letters but I have 2/3. Should I just assign that missing one now and submit?

2- Do programs ever send out interview invites before all LOR's are received? (IM)

3- Are you guys sending the picture to ERAS?

4- Is it terrible for me to not have anything in the Accomplishments heading?

5- If MSPE isnt sent until Nov, what does this mean for your application? Especially to programs that interview before Nov.

6- Is it really bad for me to use an attending's letter who has really poor grammar? Like OBVIOUS deficiencies.

7- Is it okay to tailor a specific PS just for your 1st choice program?

Thanks in advance guys

1. Yes, this was our Dean's advice. I've done it.
2. Yes, many do, some do not.
3. Yes, this is an easy one to do. Just be professional.
4. No, not terrible. Obviously, it would be better to have something, but it won't kill you.
5. Everyone is on the same page regarding the date sent for the Dean's Letter, so it won't really matter because its something you do not have control over.
6. This is a good question. I cannot answer this one. I had a letter for med school by a really well-known and well-respected community pharmacist who I worked with for many years, and therefore he knew me very well. He sent me the letter and it was a quarter of a page and written IN ALL CAPS. I just about had a stroke. He obviously had never written one before. I thought about not sending it or retyping it, but I just sent it anyways. And I got in, obviously. I guess if it's terrible, I think it would be ok if you make some grammatical corrections to it and send it back to him.

I agree with everything the PP just said, and in addition I would say yes for your last question. It's a bit overkill to tailor your PS for every single program, but I think for your number one program it's a nice touch, as long as you're not just inserting their name. If it really addresses several things specific to their program, I think it's a great idea.

What are you folks refering to by the "accomplishments heading"? Do you mean the "experiences"section?

Oh, I didn't see that last question. The advice given to me was to be generic enough to that it applies to all programs, but don't be too specific by stating something that you want that the program doesn't offer.

One thing I did was to go to the program websites and basically take keywords from their missions and goals and included it into what I was looking for in a program. I think most programs generally have similar goals.

awesome thanks for the info. i think ill tailor one for my top choice then.

i think its the other accomplishments thing in the misc tab. I wouldn't worry about having it.

also
3) depends how good looking you are, haha

to go a little more in detail about a poor grammatical letter but good content:

since i have only 2/3 required letters, should i send in the grammar letter now just to have a complete file? the content is decent i believe. this would put me at 4 letters for all programs.
