Hi. I had read on a post the other day that schools need to have offered acceptances equal to the size of their entering classes by March 15th. Does anyone know if this is true or if things have been pushed back this year? Thanks for your wisdom.

yes, this is the general rule. schools must offer a number of acceptances at least equal to the size of their class by march 15, although they can offer more than that if they want. i vaguely remember hearing somewhere (it may have been here) that the date was pushed back to april 15, but i haven't heard any confirmation of this from the schools i applied to. what i've personally heard is that schools are working extra hard to stick to the usual deadlines, not that the deadline itself is being changed.

I have no inside scoop, but here is a <a href="http://www.studentdoctor.net/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=007660" target="_blank">post</a> from before regarding this subject.

The Yale admissions director said things will be pushed back until March 31 this year.
