So I missed my date for the MCAT this year and I'm planning to take in next year, probably in March. I'm taking Kaplan right now and it ends late March. Does it help to apply earlier? Thanks.
You can answer the following part if you want 🙂
---------------------
Also, I WAS in a master's program after 5 years in college and I left after one quarter (Spring of this year). The reason for it was I chose the wrong department... I was in EBE and I was watching flies running around in circles and counting how many lines they crossed for 50+ hours a week and my PI wouldn't let me take any classes unrelated to the research. (Also, she would only let me take 3 classes in two years so I could focus on research) I was also paying 4k a quarter for this. I didn't feel like I was accomplishing or learning anything and I felt very discouraged so I left. Honestly, I felt jipped in the fact that I was doing someone else's work and paying for it.
Will this hurt me in applying to SMP? I have a 3.07 science GPA and 3.2 overall. Right now I am taking classes through UCLA extension just so I can be doing something, but I feel like I am going no where. Is the SMP application process really rigorous or do I have a good shot in getting in if I get a 30+ MCAT score?
Thanks
