Marginal Candidate?

I recently had an interview at a school I had previously interviewed with and during my closed file interview the interviewer said, "Since you are a re-applicant you must be a marginal candidate already." GREAT, thanks so much I really appreciate that. I was just wondering if any other re-applicants have been told things like that in their interviews?
