Does anyone know if Marquette conducts official interviews before acceptance? The web site said that an interview is not required, but I had heard that this might have changed. Anything you've heard would be great. Thanks.

Answering your question with a question, did you get a secondary from the school?

Do they ask you why you want to be a Marquette dentist?

I'm not sure about the interview either. They just cashed my check today so I know they received my secondary... hopefully if they're offering inteviews, I'll hear back soon.

As for the other poster with the secondary with the essay question... I don't think that's weird at all. Basically they just want to know why you want to go to Marquette. Perhaps they don't want just any kid with an acceptable GPA and Dat. Maybe they want kids that really have a reason why they want to go to Marquette... ie) They're serious about going to the school and it's not just a fallback for you.

Hi, I applied to marquette last cycle and I and other friends of mine who applied there did in fact have to go to an interview. To give some background I was an out of state applicant with high stats. the letter i received from them stated that starting last cycle they would be implementing a formal interview process. so to answer your question i believe that you will have to do an interview if they are interested in you after you return your secondary application. and yes the paper asking for an essay about why you want to go to marquette is the secondary 🙂

Yes I did get a secondary from Marquette! And the question that they asked me was why I wanted to go to Marquette! This seems to be a pretty typical secondary application question. Dispite what some might think, dental schools vary a ton. There are certain attributes that each school is looking for in their perspective students, so it would make sense to find out what it was that attracted you to their school.
