Hi guys,

For those of you who recently interviewed at Marquette... how was it? Do they ask tough questions? Is the interview laidback/conversational?

my interview is next week and i'm gettin nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😕

The interview was pretty laid back. I interviewed with Brian Tercek, the head of admissions, along with another dentist in the room. I enjoyed the interview, and didn't feel like I was getting grilled at all. Typical questions were asked, nothing really that hard. I was asked if knowledge or integrity was more important, which was a knew question for me. After the interview you get a tour by some D4 students, and then lunch at the Student Union Building. It was a good interview and the school was really nice. Good luck.

So I guess the famous "marquette" question has been modified a tad. It used to be, "Which is more important, intelligence or integrity?" not knowledge. That changes my answer a little bit. Thanks for the heads up.

great... thanks so much UNMPDS!

So the actual question was what Denticus said, "Which is more important intelligence or integrity?" I then asked him to clarify on what he meant by "intelligence" and then he said knowledge. Now to me knowledge and intelligence, though similar, are completely different concepts. So I answered accordingly. Good luck.

Very true! I wasn't asked it but I would have said (had intelligence simply meant your degree of intellect) that intelligence is greater. I figure that integrity is a more or less a choice or a priniciple you decide to carry. Intelligence is: you either have it or you don't. That being said, you're lucky if you have intelligence and your only...well...intelligent then if you have integrity. I think you struggle with knowledge because, like integrity, you really do choose how much knowledge you want as you also choose how honest you want to be with people and yourself. Really a weird question with no right answer. I think they more or less just want you to pick one and have a clever way of defending either side. Being able to defend a side with good reason will look good.

Yeah, cuz then if you don't get in to d-school, you can always try law school.

Can I ask you your GPA/ and DAT score?

Is Marquette a tough school to get into?
