Anyone else get this from Marquette?

"Your file is complete. Your application has been reviewed and the Admissions Committee has not yet made a decision on your file. Offers of admission and denials have already been given out. Your file remains active in our applicant pool and will be reviewed at subsequent meetings of our Admissions Committee. You will ultimately receive a final decision on your file in the coming weeks or months."

It seems like we werent good enough for first round, but not bad enough for a rejection...the thing is, everyone says marquette fills up on dec 1st...so idk what to think

geez, that's sure an eyesore on my decisions page...

i got the same thing in my aadsas too.... wondering exactly what it means.... waitlist or something??

During the interview process Brian mentioned that they send out acceptance emails and hold emails on Dec 1 and that they don't reject anyone this early on.

Because Marquette is a private school they deal with the limbo of people from the acceptance group choosing their state school over Marquette due to the cost. So keep your hopes up. :xf:

This is just a case instance, but I personally know someone who is in their 1st year of D-school @ Marquette and they interviewed February last year. I do think that we have a far lesser chance now though...

im in state and from what i hear, most in state kids that get accepted go to marquette over anywhere else... aka for in state people like me i think we have a slim to none chance

Marquette called and offered out all their acceptances. Now its just the waiting game to see how many will accept/decline there spots. Then you folks will get a chance! Good luck!

yeah it basically means our file is on hold and that they will review us in the coming months to fill the spaces from out of state students leaving.

I think out of state people have a good shot. There are 40 students who were out of state and got accepted so we will have to see how many of them choose Marquette.

From the 7 on predents, it looks like they got in elsewhere so maybe they will decline their acceptance to Marquette.

It sucks but it is better than a rejection letter. Btw, they did already reject many students. It says "Offers of admission and denials have already been given out."

Does anyone know the time limit they give you to put down a deposit from the time you get your acceptance. Like 2 or 3 weeks?

have they done with rejections already?

They have sent out letters and according to AADSAS those letters are either acceptances/holds/rejections. It seems that for now they are done issuing rejections. They will re-review the applicant pool for the available seats once accepted people choose their schools.

yeah the first round of rejections and acceptances went out. the rest of us are in limbo

this royally sucks... of course i stayed up all night finishing a 20 page research paper last night and i get this news today....

If accepted after December 1st, you have 45 days. After January 1st, you have 30 days. After February 1st, you have 15 days. At least I think these are the dates.

I don't know if this makes any differance or not, but I too got that update and I have not even interviewed there, so I wouldn't read too much into it, I think they changed eveyone that was not accepted to that.

You can be on hold whether you've interviewed or not, but admissions has said you have a "large advantage" being held with an interview over being held without an interview. They won't admit you without an interview first and MU hardly does that after Dec 1.

Do we know if Marquette has created a ranking of the waitlisted applicants? I emailed them yesterday about this but I did not receive a response yet. I was just curious if anyone remembered hearing anything about this.

Thanks!

No there is no ranking. Were all sitting in a pool and if a spot becomes available then its back to the drawing board. If you are an instate resident, I wouldnt get your hopes up. Chances of it moving significantly is almost slim to none. Sucks but Im not crossing my fingers.

Yeah I know what you mean. I am out of state, but it just seems like the chances aren't too high either way. I mean the chances are better for an out of stater, but I am worried by the fact that they are putting a lot of people on hold, including people who didn't interview there.
