So what's your take on this school? I've been very interested in it, and wanted the advice of all you awesome pre-dents. What are it's pros and cons? Would you consider attending? Is it very cutthroat for specialization or is it more laid back? If you have anything else to add feel free to do so. Thanks 😀

Looks like a great school w/ a beautiful campus. I don't know if this is 100% true, but after reading through their website and receiving a viewbook, I got the impression that if you are not catholic, you can forget going there. Anyone who is not catholic been accepted there or know of anyone?

I'm Catholic and they flat out gave me the generic rejection letter. But the dental school is gorgeous (brand-spanking new...4 years old to be exact). The students are laid back as is the faculty but just like any school, the pressure of deadlines in projects (sim-lab) and performance in exams can get a bit intense at times. I think you'll love it there.

Sorry to hear that Catholic on Catholic crime double4life. I'm also Catholic, and I've been really liking the school. We'll see what happens. Thanks

Remember that the Lord is always for you and never against you so with that in mind, I KNOW you'll end up in dental school 🙂 Later bud.

I don't think that they care if you are catholic of not. I was accepted last year and I am not catholic.. By the way I really liked it, I just liked UNLV more.

Good to hear. Marquette looks like a great school.

lots of nepotism here
despite their strict admissions standards (they get a LOT of applications), their incoming class stats are still very low

I have heard about this. Supposedly if your parent is faculty or graduates from the dental school you pretty much are guaranteed admission, unless you have no arms and a wooden leg.

lucky for my kids if they ever want to go there. I am not catholic by the way. I don't really think its an issue. In think the school is great. I just wish it was located in Santa Barbara.
