Hey guys -

I got an email from Maryland last week stating that the adcom decided to waive the need for a personal interview. They gave me the option to still come in on an interview day to join the group for the tour. I have been interviewed twice already at Maryland in the past two years and have been waitlisted both years. I just don't know whether to take this as good news or bad? I am absolutely ecstatic and have already set up a date to go in and tour the school once more... and not to mention, see some old friends. I was just wondering if this sort of thing has happened to anyone else at this school or another?

Not sure if it's good or bad but I know u really want to go there, I hope it works out for you!!

Wow, that is pretty sweet. I haven't heard of schools waiving the interview other than NYU a couple of years back. Congrats, you've earned it with that nice 4.0!

I know someone at Maryland that wasn't interviewed and was accepted a couple of years back. But evidently, he had ridiculous credentials.

I got that email too. My aadsas status was just updated to "Invited for Interview." I just filled out the secondary. We'll see what happens.

Yep, I applied last year, interviewed late and was waitlisted. I don't think that I'll be making it out to Maryland for the tour. That school has AMAZING facilities/resources though.

Hey...

It went pretty well IMO, I arrived just before the tour and they had me sit outside of the room where Dr. Meehan was giving her presentation. After she was done, they all came out and I met Dr. Meehan very briefly - she introduced herself and welcomed me back to the school again.

The tour was amazing as I expected (it was my 3rd tour at Maryland). The students giving the tour were very helpful in answering my questions and one of the students even spent the majority of her time by my side getting to know me. From the security guard on the ground floor to the student tour guides, they all made me feel very welcome. I really hope I hear back soon - I'm praying for the best.

Great, I am sure you are gonna get in this year :xf:
but they didnt mention when the next round would be, did they?
