has anyone gone for a maryland interview?
what is the ratio of interview/acceptance?

This week is the first week of interviews at MD. As for the interview to acceptance ratio, a few of the students I have spoken with at MD said the adcom is really really looking for in-state students this year. Have you received an interview from MD yet? I have one this Wednesday.

Sorry I totally didn't answer the interview to acceptance ratio (a little tired from work). I couldn't tell you an exact ratio, but if you're a state resident I have to believe your chances are a little better than a non-resident. Sorry I couldn't help you.

I had my interview today.

Stats of the entering 2004:

Total applicants: 1630 (153-residents, 1477- non-residents)
Enrollees: 112
Resident enrollees: 64
Non-resident enrollees: 48 (that is 48 out of 1477)
Female enrollees: 59
Male enrollees: 53

Ave. age: 23.8

Ave. GPA:
overall 3.46
sience 3.4

Ave. DAT:
AA 19.55
PA 17.24
TS 19.31

Honestly, I also got an impression that adcom looks for MD residents

Care to elaborate on the interview and what it was like for those of us who have upcomming interviews?

I have an interview with Maryland in October and I'll post my impression in the interview feedback section.

Spr when's your interview at maryland, i have one there on oct. 27

just had the interview at MD.. wasn't under the impression they were really targeting out of staters.. in fact, most of the other people there were from out-of-state.. the interview was fine, nothing too stressful. i was the real last one there, so don't be stupid like me and underestimate rainy, rush hour traffic in the baltimore/dc area.

Mine's on the 21st. It was originally for the 12th but life happens and I had to reschedule. As far as numbers go and the glum about instate versus out of state, look at it this way: 43% of their 2004 class was from out of state and that is rather high for a state school.
