Could anyone who has interviewed here share their experiences? How is the panel lunch- do you feel like they're assessing you even then or is it relaxed?

How about the questions- tricky- standard? Anybody remember any questions that stood out?

As for post Dec interviews- anyone hear back yet????

Thanks!

Please take a look at this:

Also, no I don't think you were being screened during the lunch; it was very laid back. Questions were standard. One question I remember was "What do you propose dental professionals do to better reach out to the under-served dental community?" or something along these lines. The rest of the Qs were typical and easy, and the interviewers were nice (NOTE there are two interviewers in the room with you so it is two on one, one being a prof or something and other being a student/alumni).

My interview was predec so can't help you with the postdec question. Otherwise, GOOD LUCK! Just be yourself and you'll be fine (brush up on typical questions though aka Why dentistry?).

I didn't have any tricky interview questions. My two interviewers each had my file in front of them, asked typical questions, and took notes. The closest thing to a tricky question was "What is the last good deed you've done?"

My advice for prepping for the interview would be to think about two main questions: "Why dentistry?" and "Why Maryland?". I don't think it's really possible to predict and prep for other questions; I think it's best to just be yourself.

Don't stress too much, make sure you get a good night's sleep, and eat breakfast.

I really don't think the panel lunch involves any assessment of you. Mine was pretty informal; everyone just ate lunch while a few students were scattered amongst us, and we asked them questions about the school/student experience.

Remember that while you're trying to impress the school, they're also trying to impress you, and they want to make sure you're able to ask any questions about the school while you're there for the day.

Good luck!

Thanks guys for the help! Did you hear back from MD fairly quickly....?

I interviewed post December. All of the questions were very straightforward. I heard back 5 days after my interview.
Knockem dead!

I had an interview about two weeks ago, and hoping to hear good news from them soon:xf:

I interviewed on Jan 11th, but still haven't heard anything.
