Maryland Update email?

I was just wonderig if anyone knows what the email from Maryland saying "we have reviewed your application and will continue to rereview it throughout the application cycle" means? Is this a nice kind of rejection or does it really mean you will still be considered? thanks

I didn't receive that one but I just got one saying they put me on hold because I don't have 6 hours of English and will not have it completed by the deadline.

I'm angry because I DO have 6 hours of English composition!!! 😡

i got that same email... and i also have completed the 6credits. my app says its still under review. i think they are still working on it.

I'm on hold because they are telling me I don't have 8 credits of Organic Chem.... BUT I DO!!! What gives?😕

Are they looking for a particular grade to count classes as complete?

don't look into the e-mail too much. the school is very good at (re)reviewing applicants and keeping you in the loop.... best of luck this cycle! hopefully everything works out for the best!!

You know, I wonder if placing my app on hold for "missing" coursework is their way of telling me I will be rejected. 🙄

i got an email along with two other ppl i know that we did not have 6 hours of english comp. and they said im on hold until i let them know how i plan on completing it. i have 10 credits..

i got the e-mail from maryland last wednesday saying to submit the supplemental application by fax and then they would schedule an interview for me. However 5 mins after i recieved that e-mail i got another one saying i was invited for an interview OCt 2nd, and i hadn;t even sent out my supplemental at that point.

I did not get a message about them continuing to review my application but i dont think its a rejection, when they send you a supplemental then you should be good to go.

i got this email last week! and my version also states how they have already started to make offers to students and that I'll continue to be reviewed.

Does anyone know what it means that I got this email now and not earlier like others that might have applied when i did? Does it mean I really did make it to the top of the reviewing pile now?

BUT they said they interview until early March, anyone know up to what date their booked til already? I can't call cuz its the weekend but will try next week if they're open, anyone have any info to add in the meantime please?

I recieved that same email...I think its waaaay too late to be expecting anything right now...I haven't withdrawn b/c I am curious to see if I am "good" enough to receive an interview by them...but I doubt it.

why is it too late to expect anything? I haven't heard a lot of great news like yourself but I'm still trying to keep up my hopes and expectations. They say they interview until March which isn't that far away but its not like it was last week either. I understand that they are booked with interviews but as long as they aren't booked until march (which does anyone know how far they are booked until) then that should mean that there's still hope and that we can still expect something right?

they sent me the same e-mail a few weeks ago saying i hadn't completed my chemistry pre-reqs, b/c i just finished taking Orgo Lab in the Fall and am about to take biochem now in spring.. i sent them back a VERYY informal e-mail listing my past fall schedule and my upcoming spring schedule, and i suppose that took care of it.. i got an interview invite 2 weeks after.

really? that's SO awesome! CONGRATS!!!!! do you think it was just that glitch regarding pre-reqs or do you think you would've gotten the interview invite anyways?

Plus, I emailed & called to confirm that my application was complete and was confirmed last fall. Yet, just this week I get another email stating that I do not have one of the required courses (biochem). I have already graduated but was planning on completing this over summer term one since most everywhere the policy seems to be that you are all set with pre-reqs as long as it’s done before you matriculate.

1) Will this hurt my chances of acceptance?🙁😕
2) Anyone else received an acceptance before completing biochem?
3) Why was this acknowledged now and not earlier when I called and emailed to make sure there were no such issues with my application? 😕

I am happy that it is caught now at least but still worried about the effect it has on lowering my chances of getting an acceptance because as I recall people got such pre-reqs emails much earlier!

i got the pre-reqs email about orgo lab and biochem on Dec. 7 .. on Dec. 17, ten days later than the pre-req email, i got an email to complete the supplemental then 2 minutes after and interview invite.. so don't worry!

That's such good news and surely comforting! I just hope that the earlier continuing review doesn't keep me from such a positive outcome to all this holds mess. I really hope that an interview is around the corner but am still not quite sure what the best way to approach the missing biochem credits is. Any suggestions? Should I still plan on taking it in the summer or is that going to hinder my chances of an acceptance now since they will have others that have already taken all pre=reqs or are finishing them up this semester?

Anyone else who got interviewed/accepted before completing pre-reqs, esp. if it's just one that you plan on taking this summer?

I'm currently taking organic chemistry. I'll be starting 2nd semester on Feb 4. I'll also be taking Biochemistry this Spring 2008. I've already been accepted to OHSU with courses in progress. I've interviewed in Iowa, OHSU, and soon at the UW. I've also withdrawn pre-interview from Minnesota, Buffalo, Indiana, UF, Temple and Midwestern. don't worry. Good Luck!
