Hey guys...
I interviewed at Maryland in mid-October....unfortunately, I wasn't accepted during the first round of acceptances....Maryland's my number 1...does anyone have any info based on past results on how many of pre-december interviewees get in during the second round? Has anyone else recently received interviews past December 1st? I guess i'll play the waiting game for now..

At least you interviewed there... it's my top choice and I haven't heard anything from them but "under review." 🙁

yea it was one of the earlier ones that confimed the under review status for me too but i'm hoping itll change soooon!

As long as it's not a rejection, you're good to go. I would keep in constant contact with the school though; tell them of your interest, let them know that.

I'm curious whether or not you attend a university that resides next to or is near a dental school (in a state other than Maryland). If this is the case, perhaps even though you may be qualified to attend Maryland, because you live close another dental school they may presume that closest school is your first choice. If this is not the case, then make sure you keep your grades up and submit them to aadsas so that Maryland can determine your credibility as a student. At this point it is unlikely for you to get an acceptance until the second rounds, so hopefully u will hear from them by Jan 15 or so if you get accepted. Also as mentioned above, you should email Maryland indicating your desire to attend in order to demonstrate how much of a priority you should be considered to be for the attending class. If you are a Maryland resident and attend a Maryland school, as long as your grades and DATs are in the avg range for accepting students, ie 3.5 and a 20, then you should be mostly like receiving some good news in the near future. Good luck.

i've called a few times to get a status on my app but since its been compelte i havne't called or earlier i did when i took the dat and got a horrendous qr score and was worried abuot their cut offs. Did you keep in close contact by just asking other questions or just politely reminding them you REALLY REALLY want to go there?

I don't know... When you call you just speak with the secretary. I'm sure she doesn't run off and tell Dr. Meehan-Guess who called again!?!

I don't even know if emails actually go to her-well without being weeded out by the secretary...I don't think there is any way to contact her directly-unless you drive up there and knock on her office door...or follow her home from work and beg for an acceptance on her front porch.... creepy😱

haha I don't think the latter would be a good idea. Might put a felony on your application instead!! haha

I've sent the email, been calling weekly, still heard nothing. I even emailed them saying I've been accepted at another school but would turn it down in a second for a spot at Maryland... still nothing. Guess I'll be taking that acceptance!

I did the same...did you interview already and were you able to contact Dr. Meehan directly over the phone? Her secretary seems to screen all calls before letting you talk to her...which I haven't been able to do....I think we just have to wait and see what happens...pay your deposit to the other school and see what happens at Maryland...that's what I'm doing at this point...good luck

me 2...I called them once a week and now the receptionist from admission office knows my name..damn..and she yelled at me "Be Patient" haha
It's already 5 months now!

Wow, congrats! I wanted to check out the school but I guess they don't want me to 😕. Anyway, good luck with your interview!!🙂

Where did you guys find Dr Meehans email? or did you just address your email to her but mail it to the general dds admissions email address?
