DAT Q vault has mass spec question(s). Has anyone ever seen this on the DAT? I've taken it once and I didn't study this last time and I never saw it. Anyone have any other experience?

I never saw it on mine. I would stick with what Chad says about it but I don't remember what he said.

DO NOT FOCUS ON MASS SPEC! It is not emphesized on the DAT, but you will have to identify functional groups for IR. The only ones I have ever seen in the THREE times I have taken the DAT are ketones and alchohols. The questions are extremely elementary if they even appear on the test.

NMR and IR are definitely on DAT. Cary organic chem book, Solomons. and Destroyer have some good orgo problems.

I have not seen Mass spec on the DAT but I have seen NMR and IR problems. Mainly knowing the peaks for certain functioinal groups. Kaplan, and Destroyer have good stuff on it.

I had a mass spec question on mine...it was ridiculous. But I think that is one of those once in a blue moon occurrences. Don't waste your time on it
