Mastering Destroyer = Awesome score???

My DAT is coming up and i wuz wondering wat i should focus on to ace the sciences.
If I just rely on Destroyer... will i be prepared for the sciences? I heard that there are lot of conceptual questions on the GC and OC. But the thing is... destroyer mostly just focus on solving problems and predicting reation products..

This is the 4th time going through OC and GC destroyer and i find it very easy now. Am i ready for the conceptual stuff? Am i rdy?

You should be good. I have a weird schedule where I went through some problems once, others twice and another set three times...I'm about 2.5 of what a normal person would do haha.

I would go over Destroyer Bio if you haven't! Make good use of destroyer 👍

You should learn the core concepts from what he explains in his solutions. Chad is another option (another great resource to learn the concepts).

If you went over it 4x, I'm guessing you kept track of those you got wrong? It would benefit you to relook over topics that keep giving you problems. For me, it was learning how to set up Ksp expressions so I kept hammering that topic in Chad's Videos and then re-doing the problems.

After getting a 17 on bio last year, I decided to get the destroyer. I went through it probably 3 times and when I retook today...+6 points and got a 23 in bio. I was shocked. There were probably 10 problems verbatim from the destroyer. Trust me... It helps!!!!

bottom line is this... destroyer Orgo + GC are excellent. If your doing well with those questions, the real DAT's questions are much easier / water'd down versions of destroyers.

Get your hands on some topscore and 2007 free DAT and the 2009 paid sample exams and test out your knowledge... I bet you'll be satisfied with what you see from Orgo and GC

this is odd... destroyer bio is not (in any shape or form) representative of the real DAT.... quite honestly, I didn't find it helpful at all. Its too focused on minute details and skips over the "big picture" stuff often.

It benefited me; I took the DAT twice. First time w/o got a 21, second time with the destroyer and went up to 24 and I'm a biology major.

O/G Chemistry and QR all went up as well and I believe it was due to the destroyer having so many problems and very good explanations in the back, especially for biology cause they go over wrong solutions and give you more facts about biology.

The difference in bio scores due to destroyer may have to do, in part, by the version or type of questions a test taker has on their DAT.

OP: If you're unsure of your abilities you can order a top score test and take it timed. This will give me some standing on where you're at prior to your real DAT.

Well yes, I agree, it does focus on a lot if details. I knew the "big picture ideas" from the Kaplan book from when I studied last year and then when I began studying 2 months ago, added on to my knowledge with the "minute details". I didn't think that it was going to help me as much as it did but in order to comprehend the minute details, you must know the big picture. Anyways, I can't say that it will work out for everyone but it definitely helped me bump up bio.

Dental Works is right; Toothfairy's experience PROBABLY is not representative and canNOT be counted on-- My DAT Bio section didn't have more than one of the Destroyer questions, if any at all; the real BIO is very basic and general, not as specific as the Destroyer.
