I applied to a few masters programs and wondered when they usually write/call if they are going to interview. I know PhD interviews are earlier, but there isn't as much info on masters programs.
Thanks for any insight!

a PS, just got a UConn interview, have to decide between 2 days in Feb.!

Is this a general masters?

I was wondering about masters invites as well. I applied for MA in MFT. One of my deadlines was the same time as PhD schools and I have not heard back about interviews yet, and was wondering if anyone heard anything.
Has anyone heard anything? good luck!

I've gotten interview invites from my two school psych programs: UMass-Amherst and Winthrop.

Does anyone know about when the schools should be offering interviews?
Which schools interview? When do they send out letters of acceptance? Do schools send out rejection letters before acceptance ones? Just wondering so I dont start getting nervous....

I was wondering if questions differ for masters vs PhD/PsyD? I know some programs like UConn, combine them but for others, your long range goals, type of work, etc. is different. How can a masters candidate talk about future research when that isn't the goal?
Most sites for advice are for clinical psych which is more popular, but there are other programs and they do differ in many areas.

Has anyone received an interview invite to JMU's general psych. grad program? On their website it says the interview day is February 26th, but I haven't heard one way or the other yet. When I called to check on my app. they said they were way behind from the blizzard...

Most masters interviews will ask where you see yourself in the future. They may also ask why a masters and not pHD, so as long as you're clear about what you want to in the future, and why you have chosen that particular path, you should be fine. If you don't see yourself in research, be able to explain why you find your chosen path to be rewarding for yourself.

And if you're still a little anxious about being asked about research interests, then it doesn't hurt to think of some things you might be interested in studying (don't have to be too specific), so at least you'll feel prepared and less anxious during the interview.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone have any information about the School Psychology master's program at Southern CT State Univ? Specifically I am looking to see if anyone has been invited for an interview, or knows when the interviews may be.

Thanks!

I've applied there and not heard anything yet, except many "you are missing this" items. I sent everything, they just lost them. 😕

I haven't known anyone in it well, just met a first year student briefly that said she was impressed by the professors and the program was much better than the overall university. Another grad my mother met and she was working in a suburban school. She was thinking of getting her PhD in the future, but was happy for now. A little more testing than she thought, but they always stress that in the info, she should have realized it. Very economical if you live nearby.

I am still waiting on Univ. of Hartford. They said they didn't receive my GRE scores, but the GRE site said they sent them, so that might hold it up.
I haven't heard from SCSU yet either. Would love to get an interview while I'm on break.
