Hello, I am an M1 student and, while it’s a long ways away, I have been thinking about my residency CV- specifically how I will include my masters on it. I completed an accelerated master’s degree in kinesiology at another institution during my gap year. It involved a bunch of graduate coursework and a clinical internship (no thesis). Due to some scheduling difficulties with my graduate school, I had to complete the internship (and thus, the master’s) the summer before I started medical school. I ended up finishing my internship in June, delivered my final presentation to the department, and fulfilled all the degree requirements. I then started medical school in July. Unfortunately, my school can only officially confer my masters at the end of the summer, in August. So on my CV I’ll have to indicate that the masters went August 2023-August 2024. But it will also say I started medical school July 2024. I see a lot of residency CVs listing month+year for education but some only include the year range. I’m worried that, if I only list the years, it might be viewed as trying to hide it/dishonesty. On a side note, I was also thinking about listing it as something like August 2023-June 2024 (degree conferred August 2024).

I communicated all of this with my medical school and it did not end being an issue with starting medical classes. They said I could pretty much submit my final masters transcript when possible, but im just a bit worried if this overlap will look weird/harm my application for residency. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
