When writing personal statements for SMP/Masters/postbac programs, should it be written like essays for applying to medical school (ie, motivations for medicine, clinical experiences, etc.)? or should they be more specific to why you want to enter a postbac program? If the latter, what sorts of things can I discuss besides wanting to go to the program to be a doctor? Like do I need to talk about why I want a masters degree? something like that?

For example, most prompts are something along the lines of:
Discuss your academic goals and objectives and why you are seeking admission to the BMS program.
or
Describe your reasons for applying to this program. Include your long-range goals following the completion of your training.

Great question, I have the same one. I wrote about wanting to become a doctor and why my attending the program will help me reach my end goal. I'm not sure if that's what most people do but hopefully that helped.
