Hi.
I was recently accepted into a master's program and I am planning on doing this during my gap year. I know that I am required to let medical schools know about my decision to complete a master's program, but I just am not sure how to go about doing this. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am under the impression that the OP has already submitted the AMCAS primary

secondary and updates letters; what is the masters in? is it a one year? I am not sure there is any rule requiring you to inform a medical schools of an acceptance after you have submitted to AMCAS. There may be a requirement in any acceptance/matriculation agreement. Are you sure you will be finished by end of spring 2017

What do you mean by update letters? The masters is a one-year program. And after submitting my AMCAS I read that you were required to let medical schools know of enrollment to any graduate programs. I had not been accepted into the program until after I submitted my primary application and that's why I did not include it initially.

Secondary applications are individual application per medical school and this would be the first place to note enrollment in a master's program
If for some reason, which you cant include it there (and I cant imagine a reason), you would update the school by send an email,

What are you taking a masters in? And when you say 1 year, do you mean 12 months, when will you be finished and graduated from the program. More importantly when will your master's program have transcripts showing that you are finished?

Thank you for the response. And well the program spans two terms: fall and spring semesters. I would suspect that the transcript would be ready after graduation in May.
