I think Forensic chick is right - there's no masters in the Bay Area.
Mills College has a post-bacc program - its pricey but they offer small classes and individual attention - no masters that I know of.
San Francisco State has a post-bacc program that I just completed. Giant classes, prof's who have to teach hundreds and still do research, the crumbling CA state university system problems. It wasn't "hard" and it is cheap - many have been successful but at the end of the day I would go to Mills. There's also no pre-med office, advisors, guidance. etc.
Check the web for schools that offer masters - I know only of one - Georgetown, that is not associated with a med school. You get your masters in Physiology.
If you're really going to try to apply to med school - try a program with a direct linkage program to med schools - you might pay more but if you do well you can save yourself the hassle of applying. You may have to move but I think it would be worth it.
Good luck!
